UNIMAK offers high quality academic training by welcoming students from all over Sierra Leone and preparing the new generations to contribute to the social and economic development of the country. However, many deserving students are forced today to renounce continuing their university studies because they are unable to support their costs. In addition, many of them lost their parents during the civil war or because of Ebola.

Among the guests was Monsignor Giorgio Biguzzi, for over thirty years Bishop of Makeni and one of the main protagonists of the peace process that ended the civil war in 2002 and the local Rondini D’Oro Josephine and Veronica.
